  Installs and repairs data communications lines and equipment for computer, telephone systems, routers, fax machines, internet related machines and or other telecommunications systems. Reviews work order to move, change, install, repair, or remove data communications equipment. Measures, cuts, and installs wires and cables. Splices wires or cables. Disassembles equipment and inspects and tests wiring to locate and repair problems. Tests communication lines to ensure the specifications are met using testing instruments. Installs, repairs, splices, tests, and terminates various forms of telecommunications and electrical wiring cabling (e.g. copper and fiber) to ensure impedance matching and connections between various pieces of electronic equipment. Communicates orally to customers and /or vendors (e.g. to obtain and disseminate information, resolve discrepancies, respond to customer concerns, and maintain good working relationships in the course of assigned work, and to offer training to users on telecommunications equipment , etc.) Show less
