• Worked with sports editors/reporters from around the country to coordinate major event coverage, including the Masters, the Final Four, the CFP Championship Game, etc. • Worked with editors through the company's Western properties to build enterprise news packages and better digital engagement through social media, planning, digital tools, and audio/video. • Helped plan and anchor digital audio for company-wide and newsroom-specific projects. Projects included Red River Rivalry Radio and Florida-Georgia Radio. Also helped to build and maintain a national stable of college sports podcasts that were major revenue producers. • Managed the Inner Circle program, a series of GateHouse Media initiatives that helps newsrooms develop social media skills, focus on in-depth news, hone important readership engagement practices, and expand their digital tools horizon. This includes a quarterly evaluation of over 400 publications and follow-up training with failing newsrooms. Created and helped implement Inner Circle Gold, a new wrinkle that created competition among the largest newsrooms for a cash reward. • Coordinated and managed the GateHouse Professional Development Series, maintaining a robust schedule of accredited speakers, preparing slide presentations, and relaying information on the sessions to all of GateHouse’s newsrooms. Previous topics have included analytics, SEO, engagement, in-depth news, ethics, video, fact-checking and digital audio. Sessions have averaged over 175 registrants over the last 12 months. • Managed the Best of GateHouse (now Gannett), which highlighted the best work done in newsrooms throughout the country. • Formerly coordinated Pinnacle, the company’s premium reporting project. Helped to devise yearly schedule, selected project coaches, requested story pitches from the field, then coordinated content from the field with CND designers and digital developers. Show less
