• Supported business intelligent applications where bug defects were too high and the new product enhancements were not delivered timely. Thus, bug defects decreased 80% and increased product enhancement delivery time by 50%. • Developed and sustained a legacy Java application by adding new product enhancements to the code base using Eclipse, Java, Unix scripting, ANT, and ANTLR. Debug and Testing done on application using test cases written to execute code with demonstrable expected output using Unix scripting. • Continued to design, develop, test, and sustain Microsoft Excel workbook tools and applications written in Visual Studio, Visual Basic for Applications, SQL, Java and C++. These tools used pivot tables, charts and graphs to display a customer’s data environment. This allowed SEs to show a customer where bottlenecks were in the data process and how to alleviate them. These tools led to millions of dollars in main frame tape and disk storage sales. • Facilitated integration of Sun Microsystems Software Defects Reporting System to Oracle Corporation’s Software Defects Reporting System. When Oracle purchased Sun, it was necessary to integrate systems. Developed the process, created the user guide and trained 75 users. Show less

Software Engineering Manager • Managed a team of 12 developers in 4 independent functioning areas that developed and sustained end-user (our customer) software. Organized a cross-functional group with my team and other teams to close a gap in the development and testing processes that was allowing bugs to escape the testing process. Resulted in reduced software defects to the customer and increased code coverage test statements 25%. I started at Shamrock Foods as an order selector at night. After a year and a half I transferred into transportation as a driver. Driving the 5 state area around Colorado I managed to deliver on every route, I was also the vacation relief dispatcher where I picked up some very useful computer skills. I was promoted to supervisor in 1988, Then promoted to Transportation Manager in 1990. I started at Shamrock Foods as an order selector at night.
