The complete department included approximately 50 engineers with our sub department comprising of approximately 10 engineers. A broad range of project management experience was established with the role demanding the completion of variety of site wide projects from start to finish. Project duties were similar to the above mentioned mechanical project engineering position. Projects were completed within the Mount Isa Mines Copper Smelter and Copper Concentrator. The majority of projects dealt with upgrading plant and equipment on capital budgets, including pipes, pumps, tanks, drives, thickeners, structural modifications and fire suppression systems.

Vacation Student Mechanical Engineer

Full time vac work position at Appin Colliery for three months within the engineering department and underground maintenance crews. Performed various tasks including a removable handrail conceptual design, revising work order tasks, learning’s around condition monitoring and safety requirements. Underground experience included pump operations for mine dewatering, water and air service line maintenance, long wall shearer and armoured face conveyor maintenance. Became knowledgeable of the underground coal mining operations and safety systems. Part time vac work within the Dendrobium Logistic Department. Role requirements were to revise work order tasks and update relating documents. Also participated in risk assessments.
