Newsfactory is a media agency offering services such as media advisory, content marketing, theme magazines, advertising sales services, and ad and magazine production.My job as the IT manager at Newsfactory was a new challenge for me where I had to build up their IT environment from scratch. We went from 1 small office with 10 employees to 3 different offices connected through VPN with a centralised server hall at the main office. During this growth I demonstrated the overall perspective and understanding needed to manage the IT issues in a long-term, economical and timely manner. My main goal was to maintain the highest possibly degree of confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of the system and services independent of location. This through the procurement of the best-suited products, services, and contracts. I established and maintained the IT Strategy and security of the company and maintained the incident response and recovery protocols. Konstfack was opened in 1844 and is Sweden's largest artistic university and has about 1000 students and 200 employees. As can be expected at a university the IT environment was quite complex and the infrastructure needed to be suited for a variety of needs. I worked primarily with the installation, operation, maintenance and administration of computers and servers. I demonstrated the ability to have meaningful dialogues with the faculty and to quickly understand the requirements and their wishes for their classroom environment. I demonstrated the ability to facilitate this through the proper configuration of installation profiles and applications relevant to the area of education and research while adhering the strict IT policies of the university. In 2001 I started the support and development company GreenTea Grafiska System with my colleague Thomas Edvardsson. We focused primarily on companies in the graphical and media industries. We assisted small to medium-sized companies with procurement, installation, operation, maintenance and support of their IT environment. We also assisted companies such as Bonnier, H&M, and the Nordic Antiques Fair among others with larger development projects. For Bonnier we developed an automated control and delivery system of the printable PDFs for the Stockholm city newspaper. For H&M we developed a system to automate the conversion of high-resolution advertisement photographs to multiple sizes and formats for web publication. In 2001 I took my first job in IT at Telia Infomedia Partner, which later become Elanders Anymedia. I started in the IT department as a support technician and worked primarily with Installation, operation, and maintenance of the workstations along with user and application support. After a few years I advanced to the position of system manager of the graphical production system. Shortly after that I changed departments and position to technical consultant and project leader. I worked with the company’s directory systems for their foreign customers, which required a great deal of travel to the Baltic States.
