      I sold Trimble Survey & GIS solutions in Western Illinois & Eastern Iowa. Part of my duties were to support these solutions for Precision Midwest's customers. I would travel to customers to provide demostrations to show the benefits of using Trimble solutions and the extra value of the support & service that purchasing through Precision Midwest had to offer. After the sale I would deliver the equipment and provide onsite training to those customers who required it. Working trade shows and giving presentations for PDH credits were also part of my duties. I would attend Land Surveyors chapter meetings, conferences and search the Internet to help generate new leads for potential opportunities to sell solutions. It was a great opportunity for me to learn about direct sales and closing deals. I will forever be greatful to Rick Fisher and the PMW staff for the opportunity and the training I received from them.

      I was responsible for creating and leading a team to collect all of the City's assets. Mapping the entire storm water and sanitary sewer systems as well as assessing their condition was my primary focus. Rock Island never had a GIS system in place at the time so myself and my team built the system from scratch with help from Rock Island County GIS department. Based on my recomendation I convinced the City to install a GPS base station to improve the speed of collecting as well as giving us survey grade accuracies. To subsidize the initial cost of the installation I sold subscriptions to our GPS base station to the surrounding communities. This was a huge benefit to both the City of Rock Island and Rock Island County. The County enjoyed the benefit of having all the major cities in the County being on the same coordinate system which made it easy to share data and accurately anaylize the data. I wrote an article for Point of Begining magazine explaining how we setup the system and colaborated with the surrounding cities and Rock Island County.
