I am responsible for managing and running 3 projects at Guideposts, The first is called dig n grow that supports adults with learning difficulties and runs 3 days per week running between 10am and 3pm (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). dig n grow can support up to 8 adults per day in this project. In this project gardeners can do activities both on and off site, take part in social enterprise and go to the local allotments. The second project which i am responsible for managing is called GLADS and this is another day service that Guideposts provides, it again supports adults with have a learning disability and provides opportunities to participate in activities such as football, boccia, curling, forest school and also do onsite activities that include cooking, arts and crafts, bingo and other fun team building activities. GLADS run for 5 days per week and runs between 9am and 4pm and also provides a shuttle bus to enable service users to get to and from the service The other project i am running and coordinating is called OX18, its a youth club supporting adults aged 18+ with a learning dissability to access a youth club once per week, and activities they participate include Football, swimming, quizzes, trips to local pubs for meals and drinks, trips to local places on interest including Blenheim Palace. We aim to support people to become more confident in and around Witney, providing a platform for them to make new friends and supporting them towards being more independent whilst increasing their self confidence and increasing their opportunities to participate in new or fun activities I have my NVQ Level 3 in both Social, Health Care and Playwork and have also qualified as a Level 3 forest school practitioner and have also done an inhouse leadership and management qualification which i completed at Oxford Brookes University.

Thyme together is currently a smaller project but something we are looking to grow in the future. The other project which i am responsible for is forest school which is a Children in Need funded project and we were awarded a grant to deliver this to children statemented with SEN in Oxfordshire, we have worked with other charities and schools to support as many children as we can locally. We have a site that we use at Hilltop Garden Centre but also provide pop up sessions at schools and other locations around the county. We have successfully had this project signed off and fortunately have reapplied for funding and this has again been successful for a further 3 years working with children statemented with SEN and also supporting low income families, the project is running in West and North Oxfordshire

Working for Guideposts Charity to make a difference to children and young adults lives across Oxfordshire The project i am managing and running is forest school which is delivered at Hilltop Garden Centre, Ramsden which is located near to Witney. This is a great learning platform for children/young adults to learn new skills, develop existing ones and have fun outside. The activities that they can take part in include: woodland arts and crafts, den building, nature/scavenger hunts, team building games, bug hunting, learning the safe use of tools including health and safety. Also children can work towards lighting small campfires and also having the opportunity to do some campfire cooking. For information again visit our website www.guideposts.org.uk/forest-school-in-oxfordshire Alternatively email me at thooper@guideposts.org.uk and I will answer any of your questions you may have.

I was previous to this running an after school club and holiday club for children mainly statemented with special educational needs, these included autism, Asperger's, and also moderate and severe learning difficulties. The afterschool club run daily between 3pm and 6pm and we regularly had between 8 and 10 service users per evening. Our Holiday club ran between 9am and 4pm allowing respite to families but also allowing working families a safe place where they could leave their children knowing that their needs could be met. We were often full on holiday days meaning we had 12 service users daily.
