I joined BMRB’s (then TNS BMRB and Kantar Public) graduate scheme in 2004, and became a Director in 2015. I led numerous projects across survey modes and policy areas and has particular experience in the management of large and complex random probability studies. My experience includes managing the Pew Global Attitudes Project, the Understanding Society Innovation Panel, the National Survey for Wales and the Citizenship Survey. I led Kantar Public's work around questionnaire design and worked closely with a range of government clients in this area, leading questionnaire development projects for surveys including the National Student Survey, the Millennium Cohort Survey and the European Social Survey. In addition, I ran questionnaire design training courses for junior researchers and leads a questionnaire design group in Kantar. The group regularly run experiments to assess the impact of question wording, order and format on response. One of my main areas of interest was to examine the design challenges and opportunities offered by the increased use of mobile devices for social surveys. I presented widely at conferences on this and other topics. Show less
