  Position Summary/Essential Duties: • Understands role in providing and reporting on Community Outreach Programs/events • Serves as liaison between Director of Community Outreach, the community and other members of Community Outreach, and Hospital health care steam • Manages, coordinates and provides staff for screenings, health fairs, CPR , 1st aid classes, CE talks and health talks • Sets up programs within the community and manage/coordinate the Health Event Calendar • Excellent communication skills required with the knowledge and ability to teach and train others • Attend regular staff meetings • Set up for the Festival of Arts Screenings and provide enough staff and supplies to ensure this endeavor • Manage data for Community Benefits Program and assists the director with the Community Needs Assessment • Must possess a strong initiative and be self-directed, making decisions independently • Must be able to organize/staff health fairs, esp. Festival of Arts • Must be able to assist Director with United Ways activities: basket raffle, coordinate volunteers, etc. • Must be flexible with hours. Some evenings and weekends are required. Must be able to fill in for staff if needed. • Must attend meetings for Stroke, Diabetes, Festival of Arts, etc. • Must stay current with nursing and American Heart CEs to maintain licensure in all fields. • Establish relationships with community groups including but not limited to SNF, IL, AL, libraries, senior centers, schools, churches and various clubs and organizations. • Models the Mission and Core Values of St. John Medical Center in daily works.
