In my time here, I have had the pleasure of working under the direct supervision of CIBER’s director Dr. Venu Kalavacharla while assisting with the planning and coordination of many of CIBER’s various activities. Working under pressure and tight deadlines is a skill that I have continued to foster and strengthen in my current position as acting program coordinator for CIBER. In addition to keeping up with the day-to-day tasks of my department, I have also been a key player in helping to organize and streamline the processes for the Center. I have also worked with CIBER’s external collaborators at the University of Delaware, Wesley College, Delaware Technical Community College, and several other out of state colleges and universities coordinating and promoting EPSCoR student events and activities. I work with all levels of the Center, from assisting graduate and undergraduate students, to helping coordinate teacher’s workshops for K-12 teachers across the state. Lastly, I know that I will be able to manage a responsive and active website because I currently maintain the new CIBER website (ciber.desu.edu), the DSU i-Tree webpage, and I have also been asked to oversee The Ethics Resource Site’s webpage. Recently I have been asked to assist with larger university events such as the STEM Expo, the Kent County Science Fair, and the Fall Ag recruitment event. I am absolutely sure that I can demonstrate the qualities of a desirable employee for any employer because I care deeply about the quality of my work and what I have been able accomplished to date. I would very much enjoy the opportunity to invest in it’s future. Show less

As a Java apprentice for The Software Guild I have enjoyed comprehensive courses and lessons in full Stack Java Development. During my time with the guild I learned design fundamentals like wireframing, CRUD Interface Design, and Agile Development. I also gained a good understanding of Java programming fundamentals by designing and building a Java console-based MVC CRUD application to model a DVD Library using the Netbeans IDE. This apprenticeship also taught me a great deal about web development. I gained practical experience in this area by designing and programming an Open Weather REST Client using HTML/CSS/JS/JSON to access the Open Weather API. After completing the first half of the courses, I moved on to relational database design and implementation. My database design experience encompasses SQL server, SQL query writing, data modeling and table creation. For practical experience I built, designed, and programmed a Superhero Sightings Spring MVC Web App using HTML/CSS/JS and Bootstrap for front-end (client-side) and Java and mySQL workbench for the back end. The program allows the user to document a superhero/villain sighting by date and location, in addition to cataloging powers and organizations with database persistence and full JUnit DAO tests I utilized Github for code review and version control. I am continuing my education by tutoring a student in beginner’s python and pursuing further education in the .NET/C# and python languages. Primary Skills Acquired: • Java • HTML5 • CSS • Javascript • Object Oriented Programming • Data / Class Modeling • jQuery • Bootstrap Framework • Version Control (github) • Debugging Techniques • Spring JDBC • REST Using Web API • Common Architecture • Test Driven Development • Agile Development Show less
