      Within the Sustainable Campus Program at the University of Colorado Denver my duties were to lead a multi-discipline committee to address sustainability in college operations. I collaborated with members of the city staff, other public agencies and private organizations to achieve sustainability and energy efficiency on campus. I was in charge of collecting student concerns in issues surrounding sustainability and find ways to solve them using the SCP budget as well as promoting the idea of sustainability. Within my term I successfully introduced a new bike sharing program to campus, helped install a bike fix-it station at a high traffic area, retrofit buildings with new energy efficient light fixtures, funded a new biofuel program, installed a new watering system on campus, and began the first steps in organizing an on campus garden.Smaller responsibilities include overseeing social media, scheduling, and event planning.

      As an Energy Service Corps intern my responsibilities were to perform energy assessments and upgrades on Denver homes by conducting door to door surveys in various neighborhoods to ensure sustainability within community member’s homes. Along with that I retrofit 100 local businesses and homes to cut energy costs and boost efficiency. My largest projects I created were teaching Denver Public Schools students grades K-12 about the importance of energy efficiency. Through enlisting the support of volunteers, businesses and community groups via phone banking and canvassing I was able to teach over 1000 Denver kids about the importance of our outdoor environment and sustainability.Smaller projects include collaborating with group members and created interesting and exciting ways to register 1,700+ students to vote. Planning events to motivate students to fill the University of Colorado Denver food bank.
