      The Best Start System Navigator assists in the development of the integration process of the Best Start Initiative through sites across the District working closely with the Children's Services Manager.The Best Start System Navigator plays a pivotal role in system integration and sustainable linkages across organizations and agencies to ensure the quality of services in the District. The ability to evaluate the needs of others, to motivate by using demonstrated facilitation skills as well as to foster inclusive engagement is necessary. Requires ongoing monitoring and evaluation to gauge outcomes and assess work in the context of an adaptive cycle.The Best Start System Navigator for the Indigenous, Rural and Remote Profile offered an assisting and coordinating role in the development of the Indigenous Cultural-Linguistic Competency Framework for the District of Timiskaming. The position requires knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action, local people and history, and continuous learning about Indigenous world views, in seeking to cultivate relationships with First Nations and Métis stakeholders, highlighting cultural awareness as it relates to ongoing efforts to achieve cultural safety for children and families within the mainstream service system.
