While at Morgantown High, I taught both 10th grade honors and 11th grade basic. Taking part in an individual placement, this position allowed me to experience the classroom independently. From working on multi-genre units to exploring Shakespeare, my classroom was one full of differentiated instruction focused on the community of learners. This placements allowed me to experience a broad range of learners, from honors students to English as a Second Language students. During this student teaching placement, I took part in a dual teaching placement in an 8th grade classroom. Such an experience has helped me to gain added perspective of the classroom not only as a teacher, but as a student as well. This opportunity afforded me great insight into my own teaching styles, ability, and strengths. It allowed me time to not only teach, but engage in a co-teaching classroom, as well as providing a strong team teaching experience.
