Manage a team of 10 staff and provide training on therapeutic techniques such as ABA and picture exchange programs, behavior modification planning, and a trust based relational intervention approach to build high structure high nurture environments for the children in our care. Observe children in the classroom and work with the child therapist to build family plans which incorporate getting the mothers access to resources like early childhood intervention screenings, and access to medical care for their child. Organized and led 2 team building events for the residential shelter staff, and coordinated 3 professional training for the entire organization, training focused on working with Individuals with Disabilities and Childhood trauma, two of the training’s were coordinated through a partnership I built with the Harris Center for Mental Health. Support grant funding through providing monthly grant reports and success stories to a 100K Precinct One grant, as well as the 30K Powell Foundation grant. Provided media support for the organization by participating in a fellow community partners podcast and a story with KHOU News. Including basic drug discoveries and implementations towards the treatment of Duchenne MD, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Myasthenia Gravis and ALS.-Knowledgeable in advocacy rights to advance biomedical research and ensure safe and effective treatments for individuals with neuromuscular disease. Items include newborn screening & early intervention, patient focused drug development, and federal funding for research. -Oversee our care center network program by managing the data and coverage our staff is inputting to our MDA registry system. Program mange a team of 10 care specialists to ensure proper communication, data, and outreach is occurring within the clinical setting. -Partner and have direct relationships with 15 neurological clinics and work with the clinical directors across the territory to ensure they meet the standards of an MDA care center. Care centers who partner with MDA receive grant funding that supports a multidisciplinary approach of care for individuals living with neuromuscular disease. Events we assisted in gathering family support at included fundraising galas, MDA Muscle Walk, MDA Fill the boot with our Houston Fire Dept, and consumer engagement events. •Discussed the research and treatments the current neuromuscular community was working towards. Educated on rare disease advocacy rights, the amount of funding MDA provided to research grants, and the avenues to access clinical trials. •Connected families to our loaner medical equipment program and provided families with DME including power chairs, hospital beds, walkers, and lifts. Provided other resources for equipment needs, transportation, home health care, ADA compliant reconstruction, and other various resources. •Directed a Summer Camp at Camp For all in Burton, TX for 100 children 6-17-year old’s who have Muscular Dystrophy. The camp houses 250 volunteers and children for one week in the summer of 2017 and 2018. In charge of planning daily activities, coordinating with development team on sponsorship's, and recruit 150 volunteers through attending various volunteer fairs around the greater Houston Area.•Coordinated two educational conferences on Becker Muscular Dystrophy in Nov. 2017 and on ALS in Oct 2018.
