All aspects of my role require a lot of focus, attention to detail, technical ability and observation skills, as well as, cultural awareness, as our clients are often in other countries. Show less

My speciality was Hi visibility clothing and the various standards that were applied to an item, but I also assessed items such as gloves.

I have a good track record in a previous role of being able to type from poor quality audio and I have experience of working with audio from consultants who have strong accents. To date I have worked on a variety of orders for customers from the Americas, Australia, South Korea and Cyprus. These include recorded memoirs, Skype interviews, self help guides and customer service calls to a technology company. All orders are customised to the requirements set by the customer. Key responsibilities within the events team were completing day to day administration tasks such as, filing, researching and contacting potential venues, sourcing equipment, logging and updating events within the project management software and minute taking during meetings. A big portion of my time was spent compiling data from various sources into a single workbook. I then used this data to create a dashboard though the use of pivot charts and slicers. This was used to show the more popular webinar topics, the countries with the highest unique users, the highest turnout per month and other information to help adapt the webinar content, with the aim of reaching a wider audience and reducing no-shows. In my current role with the exams team, I create new tasks, edit current ones and construct tests for either pretesting or live testing. This involves a lot of attention to detail and flagging up any potential shell errors, grammatical mistakes, formatting issues and spelling mistakes. Any edits have to be approved by the administration manager for that paper before they can be corrected. Occasionally I assist with the helplog. This includes filing, photocopying and other administration duties. I also have been tasked with typing up handwritten sample candidate answer sheets, whilst leaving in errors and updating and repairing formatting for guidebooks within word. Show less

    • Customer Service Assistant
      • Oct 2015 - Jul 2016

Key responsibilities included making customers feel welcome upon entering the store by offering a warm greeting and a cup of tea. Depending on which event or gaming machine the customer chooses, I would offer them information on the deals of the day,William Hill special or the gaming machine tournament. Speed and accuracy is essential when putting bets through the till. An event could be starting in a matter of seconds or a price could change if you are not quick enough. The slips must be translated accurately to ensure that the right bet is placed on the right event. I was trained to be a duty manager. The duty manager takes on the responsibilities of running the shop for that shift and managing the cashier. I also need to ensure that the correct marketing posters and offers are on display, as well as, calculating the amount of money that should be banked and making sure we are left with enough money in each of the denominations for the following day. Initially my role was mainly replenishment of stock. This involved booking in parts sent over from manufacturing and ensuring that they were put away in the correct location. If there were any discrepancies in numbers, a part did not look like the items already in the bin or were damaged, this would need to be relayed to the materials team. My main duties before I left the company were the sorting of pickslips into days and then level of priority, picking the orders efficiently and informing the coordinators if there was potential for delay. This all had to be done with care as, if the wrong part were to go out, a customer might feel that the company is not taking their business seriously. Show less

I worked for the Cambridgeshire Community Services on a new project that would see essential community services streamlined. From day one, me and my colleague were involved in the move from hospital only referrals to community wide access. This was a challenge for both of us as I had never worked in the community and my colleague worked alongside the PCT. In the end, our very different backgrounds helped shed light on potential and current issues that only an outside eye might notice and bring up with managers. Towards the end of our contracts, the service looked very different from how it was originally imagined. This was due in part to our willingness to go above and beyond our pay grades and engage with service users to find how things could be improved. We would then collate this information ready for one of us to present at different meetings. This also allowed ourselves and the nurses to exchange information, concerns and find middle ground. • Oct 2006 - Apr 2013

During the time I worked within the Pathology and Haematology departments, my role evolved from doing simple tasks to taking on greater responsibility. By the time I left I was responsible for enabling the staff to progress within their own roles through eLearning. This involved going through the different courses and devising a way in which I could teach others. I had to do this alongside my main role as a clerical officer. I had find a way to fit teaching my colleagues and the senior staff into an already filled day. This is no easy feat when you have tasks that have to be done at a certain time within a set time limit. This was especially true with the pathology results. There were set timed runs that could take upto an hour to print and had to be sorted into pigeon holes ready for the post lunchtime collection. Show less
