ESL Teacher

Oct 2013 - Mar 2014
Thailand Through the non-profit company of Greenheart Travel, I chose to teach English as a second language to students in Thailand. I primarily taught students ages 12-15 but also had classes as young as kindergarten and as old as 15-16 year olds. It was an eye-opening experience, both culturally and academically. I learned how to effectively communicate by both verbal and non-verbal cues and am grateful for the opportunity to grow my international perspective.

The biggest project I worked on was The Hoosier Lottery campaign, where I conducted research for their relationship with MZD and their effects before and after specific ads. I took part in creative sessions for the Indiana History Museum campaign, working to peak interest in younger generations. I also observed internal pitches of ads before going to the clients. The experience I gained from my time at MZD is invaluable and taught me so much more about the advertising industry. I have put the things I learned at MZD to work in other aspects of my life, such as quicker researching tools, creative thinking, and improving my design skills. Show less
