  Topic 1: a systematic review and meta-analysis to examine outcomes of catheter ablation under general anesthesia (GA) and non-GA techniques. Critically searched Pubmed and Embase, evaluated 1059 studies using Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Scale, extracted data, and statistically compare the heterogeneity among the studies via forest plot. Discovered that GA or deep sedation is associated with a higher procedural success rate during ablation. Orally presented findings and strategies with an academic poster and wrote a formal scientific report. Topic 2: Evaluation of electrocardiographic markers of stroke and sudden cardiac death. Analyzed 1000 ECG graphs and 500 medical histories from a retrospective database of patients with mitral valve disease in Prince of Wales Hospital. Show less
