• PET Radiopharmaceutical Production and Quality Control Technician

  Working in the production, dispensing as well as quality control testing of FDG (Fluorodeoxyglucose) for use in PET(Positron Emission Tomography) scans. Production included starting, and running of a Siemens Cyclotron bombarding O-18 water in a tantalum target. Additionally production included the setup and loading of the Trasis synthesis modules. Finally the production concluded with manual dose dispensing in a lead-lined hot cell using radioactive dosimeters to help calculate the radioactivity, per syringe, later in the day. Following production, Quality Control began which required samples to undergo tests including Gas Chromatography, Multi Channel Analysis, Endotoxin testing and Thin-Layer Chromatography.
