This involves actively seeking out interesting content for media sites, being creative with differing forms of media and maintaining an excellent presence to our 24,000 following. I also lead in using eCRM for targeted marketing with those already signed up to our mailing list. Those who have signed up, receive regular updates about the goings-on of the cinema, plus bonus information. Even though my role title specifies the ‘digital’, does not mean that print marketing does not play a part. I ensure that posters are distributed around the building for extra special events, as well as having played a vital role in out and about marketing for select films (e.g. Possum), because of this I have gained a trusted relationship with local businesses who have hosted our promotional content. Part of my role consists of allocating funding for digital means. When presented with specific funding from organisations who want to achieve a goal, I have had to allocate that funding into a social media scheme in order to drive sales, audiences or boost exposure. The last bit chunk of my work is the Phoenix website. Not only do I process all of the SEO needed, I also allocate adverts onto the righthand side of the page, handpicking each to ensure they are relevant to the content on that page. I create blog content for our site, as well as manage all contributors, this requires me to follow up on deadlines, ensure our style is adhered to and monitor the content for the best results. Skills attained: able to process SEO expertly, solid understanding of how to navigate Google Analytics and use to advance, fluent in all things social including Business Manager, Instagram insights and Twitter ads, capable of using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign to a good level. This involves actively seeking out interesting content, being super creative and maintaining a presence for our following. Since being taken on by Barefoot Festival in March, I have doubled their engagement on social media. This has been through actively rejigging the social media pages so that they are all coherent, as well as routinely posting. With Facebook and Instagram, my role also includes using my skills with Business Manager to target specific demographics for the festival through targeted marketing. A big chunk of my work is to raise awareness for the festival and hopefully grow the number of people going. This has been primarily through targeted marketing and social media. However, I have also had to liaison with listings websites and media professionals to achieve this. Part of my role is to also balance my work-load equally, continually monitor social media and relay any vital information back to the organisers, as well as being in charge of the marketing budget. Skills attained: working from a freelance perspective and actively being in charge of all marketing for the festival, liaising with media professionals, actively communicating (and in a happy manner) with avid customers at all hours of the day.
