  The technical traineeship within Alliander consists of three projects, with the first two taking 6 months and the last a full year. Personal development is facilitated through professional training sessions hosted by 'De Baak'. First 6 months I've worked within Liander's Asset Management, as part of the Grid Planning team. The Grid Planning team's task is to lay out the gas and electric grid to be able to facilitate future needs and wants, by carefully considering all options and weighing in aspects such as costs and current policies. My role as a trainee is to analyze the low voltage grid based on calculation and historic disturbances data, as well as assisting the department with new issues stemming from renewable energy developments (such as large scale solar parks) in the Netherlands. Second 6 months I transferred to the Contractors department. Here I developed an extensive course for engineers on how to interpret contractual agreements, and created a full financial analysis to benchmark contractors. Second year transferred to Allego as Technical Consultant.
