  Lead Winds is about helping college become more affordable to students by lowering the cost of textbooks. If you've been to college you know how expensive textbooks can be - and for many students, it puts them in a place of having to choose between textbooks or things they really need. We hope to solve that problem - plus make a textbook more than a textbook. We offer an online "textbook" that includes audio, videos teaching the subjects, and more.   Most college websites are poorly made and hard to navigate. We wanted to do something better. We built a new website from the ground up with simplicity and ease of use in mind. We met with faculty, students, the different departments and held many focus groups - all with the simple goal of simplicity and ease of use. I led the development of the website - but as with any major project like this, it was a team effort, not a single person.

  One awesome part of the department and team I was a part of is that we had the position and ability to step back, look at the college, and see how improvements can be made, then try to move forward and implement them. With this position I was able to lead the department in a new website for the college as well as putting together multiple other plans to improve student engagement, enrollment, dissemination of information, and teaching.
