It's not very difficult to find meritorous things to say about Tom, but it is difficult to pick only a few to mention. Tom is one of the most passionate computer scientists I have ever met, coupled with his ever-growing knowledge of computational machinery, he's a key-player on any team. And he's down-to-earth. Not only can Tom easily (and understandably) explain the technical particulars of a seemingly infinite set of technologies, he can almost magically do the same for any (good) science fiction novel (and its Author), stout (and its brewery), foreign food (and its country of origin) or language (even Ruby) . I'm glad to have met him, learned from him, drank beer with him and befriended him.
