Thomas brought so much to our team at Scripted. First and foremost, he was a fearless leader of our CS organization. He was always willing to listen to and address concerns, advocate for us cross-departmentally, and jump in when a client needed extra care. He held us accountable for client engagements and was adamant about self-improvement and finding learning opportunities. In addition to being a trusted leader, he’s also a wonderful teammate. He’s committed to maintaining and improving team cohesiveness and strengthening team bonds, which were vital to Scripted’s success. I’m glad I was able to work with and learn from Thomas for 3+ years at Scripted and I hope our paths cross again in the future!

Thomas taught me how to be compassionate at work. When he first joined Scripted, I fit all the negative stereotypes of an engineering leader. I was snarky, dismissive, pedantic, and aggressive. When members of his team were confused or frustrated by our software platform, I would write off their concerns as user error. Instead of approaching cross-departmental relationships with empathy and patience, I would start from a place of distrust: "did you even try to solve this problem on your own?". Leading by example (and with countless hours of coaching), Thomas taught me to put myself in my teammates' shoes. I can earnestly say that my team today would not recognize the manager I once was (and my team from back then would barely recognize me now)! I owe that transformation to Thomas. Thomas is a tireless voice for the customer and employee, constantly imploring and coaching his team to challenge their preconceived notions. He consistently encourages positive thinking, highlighting customer success stories and celebrating his employees' accomplishments. Thomas sees the big picture. He manages the whole human (not just the employee sitting in the office from 9 to 5). He garners trust by listening before speaking, and he asks thoughtful questions before issuing orders. He is never afraid to roll up his sleeves and do the tactical work himself. He earns respect by grinding with the team. Any company would be lucky to count Thomas in their ranks or on their leadership team. I can only hope to work with him again someday!
