  My role at UNM-Valencia is to develop and present core course materials in the fields of Earth and environmental science in order to promote and increase interest in STEM fields among students, particularly those from minority groups.

  My primary responsibilities in this endeavor included (1) developing and maintaining a laboratory space where faculty and students could prepare organic material isolates, primarily cellulose, from raw sample materials, and (2) investigating and modeling intra-ring stable isotope (delta 18O) variability as a step towards improving the identification of tropical cyclone signatures in tree-rings from the U.S. southwest.
