I accepted a role in a small but well regarded courier company specialising on high speed, critical movements for a broad range of customers including the aerospace and medical industries nationally and internationally. The approach was to get good people to handle every aspect of a customer’s requirement from initial enquiry, through delivery and invoicing. This approach allowed a great deal of insight into the full process allowing for a high level of expertise. In the last five years the company has grown into one of the largest independent courier companies in the UK. For the last three years I have managed all aspects of the company’s HGV and specialist vehicle arm, while also acting as broker and coordinator for service delivery for new customers and managing standards of delivery for existing ones. • Jan 2013 - Oct 2013

In December I accepted a contract as a Junior Trader at Time line International, a small Trading House providing goods and services to the mining and oil industries in Asia, primarily Indonesian nickel mines. Whilst there I handled all aspect of the case work, from the point of enquiry through sales and logistics to eventual delivery and payment. During my time there I gained valuable experience in a sales and negotiation environment that complements my supply chain knowledge, and have enjoyed the opportunity to broaden my knowledge of the logistics industry on a global scale. I was also directly involved in the upgrading of the order history software and information retention procedures allowing me to perform more accurate and more specific sales analysis. Finally I was also heavily involved in managing relationships with our existing clients and ensuring exemplary standards of customer care and satisfaction. Show less
