At my role at QGC Shell, I held the position of Lead Cost Engineer, as part of a dynamic Project Controls team. I was responsible for the Cost Control within various business units, over this period I had experienced many scopes in both Greenfields and Brownfield including Fixed and Flexible scopes from Civils (Gathering Pipeline), Mechanical and Electrical (Wellsite Facilities), Procurement, Engineering and Construction. Duties include but not limited to;- Responsibility for the establishment, maintenance, and delivery of the cost management activities for projects.- Provide monthly cost reports, identifying value of work done (VOWD), trend data, budget performance and forecast at completion.- Risk analysis - in conjunction with Project Team and Planners identify project risks and opportunities and identify into risk schedule and forecast.- Manage and provide direction on trend analysis and the impact on the project costs.- Liaise with Estimating team to review estimate for pre-approved projects, provide feedback to aid with project benchmarking.- Analyse Contractor tender submissions/negotiated awards and recommend to the Commercial Team for award. - Manage and monitor contractors progress and performance reporting whilst monitoring scope change, variation change and earned value.- Coach and mentor the development of junior staff both onshore and offshore teams.- Presentation to senior management of quarterly and annual business plan and chair regular project controls meetings with contractor’s Team.Major Projects;- Charlie – $1.3bn – project close-out.- Ruby Stage 1 &2 – $200m – Engineering, Procurement and Construction- Goog-a-binge -$280m – Engineering, Procurement and Construction- Feasex - $50m Annual
