From April 2020 I have contributed to a legal research project with Legal Research Initiative to produce information requested by the Government of Burundi on interactions between the Paris Agreement, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Sendai Disaster Framework. The final report is due to be published as a SCELG policy brief. From July 2020 I have worked as part of a team on a research consultancy commissioned by the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation investigating indigenous community rights to natural resources around the world. I researched 5 countries and produced weekly reports of my findings to the rest of the group. The overall project is set to be reviewed and published later in the year.

I worked as a hospitality representative in the hospitality suite for Glasgow Warriors’ games at Scotstoun Stadium for around 2 years from 2017. During shifts I usually greeted guests and provided drink service to tables, making sure they had everything they needed and were satisfied with their experience. Once the game was finished and the dinner service was done, I would move on to work behind the bar in the hospitality suite and serve customers as they came in after the game. From September 2019 until the introduction of the furlough scheme I worked as part time hospitality staff in City Halls in Glasgow. City Halls hosted a wide variety of events, meaning that I carried out a variety of different hospitality roles. When gigs and entertainment events were on, I worked behind bar serving alcohol and soft drinks as well as teas and coffees. For weddings, corporate dinners and award ceremonies I would help with food service and would usually provide drinks service to a few tables and then go behind bar later on. City Halls also hosted a lot of day-time events such as afternoon teas and day-time orchestra performances. For these events I would usually help with food service and afternoon tea service.

    • Front of House Staff
      • Jun 2019 - Sep 2019

My main duties were helping customers and telling them about different gins and working behind the bar preparing drinks. During my time at Gin71 I also took gin tasting sessions where I would talk people who had bought tickets through a selection of gins which they would be able to taste at the same time. When I worked in Gin71 the kitchen was short staffed so I also volunteered to do kitchen shifts, which involved cooking and serving dishes from their grazing/bar bites menu. I had to learn how to cook and present all the dishes on the menu to a high standard and be able to do so fast enough to keep service moving.
