Universal Owner Initiatives is an investor-focused think tank whose mission is to have a systemic impact on climate change and biodiversity loss. We have published influential reports on universal ownership theory, the Net Zero Asset Manager Initiative (NZAMI) and coal decommissioning financing covered by top-tier press such as Bloomberg and Financial Times. We have also developed and tested a methodology to verify investor engagement impact with leading institutional investors. Asset Resolution's mission is to optimize the accessibility and use of physical asset-level data for climate-related financial analysis. I focused on innovation and governance, in particular towards the sale of the company in October 2022. I volunteered as a police officer working mainly in emergency response teams responding to 999 calls. I also participated in specialist operations involving counter-terrorism and Scotland Yard. I encountered the consequences of a broken social security system, high levels of deprivation, defunded mental health services, and serious youth on youth violence. I was always a fair and liberal officer, and while the police are fascinating to see from the inside, my time in the force coincided with a series of deeply disturbing incidents that undermined the Met’s reputation. I observed that the regular officers I worked with were normally decent people, professional, and good at de-escalation. Also overstretched and overcommitted to structural societal problems that the police are not trained or empowered to deal with.

I co-founded the market-leading climate lobbying think tank, InfluenceMap to help institutional investors and civil society challenge the corporate capture of climate change politics. I also developed FinanceMap, a tool to assess the finance sector's behaviour through a climate lens. This work included the world's first external quantification of investors' stewardship performance around climate change. I managed a project, out of Berlin, looking at empowering citizens over companies through their power as beneficial owners to help address systemic issues such as climate change. I also worked on consultation with stakeholders about the political leverage corporations have over climate change policy and developed new questions that were included in the CDP annual information request.
