Laidlaw Leadership program is a two-year summer internship • During the first summer I did research into designing an analogue system, for which I had to study general relativity. • In the second summer, I split my time between organising an online academic conference, mainly focussed on analogue blackholes, and building physics outreach material for a primary class. As the organiser of the conference, I had many responsibilities, including approaching and communicating with the academics; introducing speakers and chairing the proceedings; designing the website and advertising the event. My conference featured internationally renowned speakers including Professor Miles Blencowe and Professor Ulf Leonhardt, the creator of the first invisibility technology. Show less
