Jul 2013 - Dec 2013
From July 2013 until the end of 2013 I was an on-site engineer with the Hydraulics Team in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. I moved to the US to support key personnel in Compaction T4F project. I worked on design of new range of compactors and investigating technical problems on machines. I cooperated with key engineers to find solutions and with the design team to deliver designs. Until the end of 2013 I liaised between the project team in the US and the execution team in Poland. I was representing the team in design reviews and a first person of contact. My main responsibility was delivering the desired results within given resources and time-lines. Show less

May 2011 - Jul 2013
In 2011 I started at Volvo Construction Equipment as a Design Engineer. I participated in many new Volvo CE machine projects, including mini excavators (ECR25D and ECR4XD), Backhoe Loaders (B and C series machines) and Full Hybrid Wheel Loader. I designed steel, plastic and sheet metal parts, piping and hosing, weldments, carried out interference analysis and cost reduction actions. In April 2013 I joined the Compaction Project, the aim of which was to upgrade all Volvo CE Compactors to Tier 4 Final emission standard. I was a leader of a Design Team. My responsibilities were to lead a group of 5 engineers, delegate tasks and recommend technical solutions. I was responsible for the final quality of all parts and installations designed by the team. Jun 2009 - Jun 2009
- Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems. Additional to my working knowledge of hydraulic systems I successfully submitted and defended a master’s thesis in the field of hydraulics, describing the idea and construction of the start-up valve. I also completed an advanced course at the Engineering Training Centre. - Technical drawing expertise – highly experienced working with part, assembly and weldment drawings, along with hydraulic & electrical diagrams. As a team leader (Volvo CE) and chief design engineer (Bosch Rexroth) I was responsible for reviewing engineering designs and drawings. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing certificate available upon request. - Design for manufacturing, assembly and cost: extensive experience developing new designs and taking them into production. Knowledge of manufacturing methods, cost and quality from different manufacturing methods. Knowledge of GD&T and assembly methods (always working closely with test and manufacturing teams). Liaising with the procurement team on the acquisition of new designs. Experience designing for both mass and on-demand production. - Project Management & project finances (according to PMBOK) learned and used both at Volvo CE and Bosch Rexroth. Liaising with key stakeholders to define priorities and deadlines. - Team management & soft skills. Allocation of assignments to the other engineers, responsibility for the quality and delivery of the group output, checking designs and drawings, training and mentoring of developing engineers and interns. Trainings completed: time, performance and conflict management; working with clients; negotiations; effective presentations and meetings. - Assisting the Engineering Manager with the recruitment of new engineering team members and conducting performance reviews. - FMEA knowledge & moderation – Process FMEA & Design FMEA. - Lean Manufacturing basics.
