Performed as the Geotechnical Coordinator and Quality Coordinator for the Construction Manager (CM) for the $8.7 billion Program. Served as the CM lead on all geotechnical related issues. Assisted in the QC/QA management of the Program by handling all soils, aggregates and geotechnical testing. Made recommendations on the suitability of 13 million cubic yards of excavated soils; provided interpretation of specifications as to the excavation, embankment and stockpiling of soils and materials and made recommendations for undercutting and stabilizing soils. Responsible for the supervision of all phases of inspection and QC/QA testing of embankment, aggregates, backfill, structural fill, clay liners, GCL and geomembrane liners, geocomposites, geotextiles, articulated concrete revetment mat, slurry walls, rock grouting, caissons, piles and lime modification and lime stabilization of soils. Conducted supplemental test pit exploration programs. Provided geotechnical support and training. Assisted the Environmental Manager and PMO Environmental Project Manager in the identification, sampling, testing, management and disposal of contaminated soils and materials.Performed plans, specifications, and constructability reviews for approximately 95+ differing projects varying in construction values from $1 million to $529 million. Served as the CM lead and made recommendations for revising the master technical specifications for the Program and authored several new specifications. Authored a crushing specification which resulted in the production of 808,000 Tons plus of recycled crushed concrete and asphalt to date, resulting in a savings to the Program of over $15 million. Provided geotechnical expertise and assisted the Master Civil Engineer (MCE), Program Management Office (PMO) and Design Civil Engineers on review of geotechnical exploration programs and reports and pavement design calculations and coordination of geotechnical borings and supplemental investigations.
