Performed as the Geotechnical Coordinator and Quality Coordinator for the Construction Manager (CM) for the $8.7 billion Program. Served as the CM lead on all geotechnical related issues. Assisted in the QC/QA management of the Program by handling all soils, aggregates and geotechnical testing. Made recommendations on the suitability of 13 million cubic yards of excavated soils; provided interpretation of specifications as to the excavation, embankment and stockpiling of soils and materials and made recommendations for undercutting and stabilizing soils. Responsible for the supervision of all phases of inspection and QC/QA testing of embankment, aggregates, backfill, structural fill, clay liners, GCL and geomembrane liners, geocomposites, geotextiles, articulated concrete revetment mat, slurry walls, rock grouting, caissons, piles and lime modification and lime stabilization of soils. Conducted supplemental test pit exploration programs. Provided geotechnical support and training. Assisted the Environmental Manager and PMO Environmental Project Manager in the identification, sampling, testing, management and disposal of contaminated soils and materials.Performed plans, specifications, and constructability reviews for approximately 95+ differing projects varying in construction values from $1 million to $529 million. Served as the CM lead and made recommendations for revising the master technical specifications for the Program and authored several new specifications. Authored a crushing specification which resulted in the production of 808,000 Tons plus of recycled crushed concrete and asphalt to date, resulting in a savings to the Program of over $15 million. Provided geotechnical expertise and assisted the Master Civil Engineer (MCE), Program Management Office (PMO) and Design Civil Engineers on review of geotechnical exploration programs and reports and pavement design calculations and coordination of geotechnical borings and supplemental investigations.

Responsible for resident engineer duties for municipal clients. Primarily responsible for Gilberts, IL. Provide all phases of construction inspection for earthwork, detention, sanitary and storm sewer, watermain, sidewalk, curb and gutter, paving, lift stations, water wells, wastewater treatment plants and municipal maintenance. Conduct pre-construction conferences; attend board meetings, liaison with village staff and elected officials and government agencies. Punchlist subdivisions and improvements and prepare acceptance documentation and budgets. Respond to resident complaints related to engineering and infrastructure.

Quality Control Program Administrator and Project Engineer

Construction Quality Control Program Administrator at O'Hare International Airport - South Airfield Drainage Improvements project. Responsible for implementation and administration of contractor quality control program on a $15.5 million project involving taxiway and runway slotted drain installation and airside and offsite paving, 13,500+ feet of 24” force main, storm sewers, concrete revetment mat, shoreline restoration and construction of a new lift station. Wrote and implemented a construction quality control program from the ground up and handled all submittals and requests for information. Project Engineer at Yeoman Creek Landfill Superfund Site – Waukegan, IL. Project engineer on $14.4 million, 53 AC superfund landfill. Responsible for coordination of all documentation, submittals, correspondence, over $1 million T&M and pay quantities for construction of engineered clay and geosynthetic cap and gas system and flare station. Involved 380+ unexpected hazardous waste drums.

Field Engineer/Construction Engineer

Construction supervision of $16 million project requiring the excavation of over ¾ million cubic yards of earth to construct a winter and summer reservoir for stormwater detention, construction of 2 feet and 3 feet clay liner, stockpiling suitable clay for future projects, concrete revetment mat, over 7,600 feet of 20” force main, and storm sewers. Provided recommendations resulting in the field redesign of the clay liner and implementation of a testing program to comply with the EPA Title V requirements. Also construction inspection on North Airfield Drainage Improvements-Central Sewer and East Sewer projects, O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois. Construction supervision of $5 million project involving upgrades to drainage system associated with three major north side runways. Pipe sizes up to 96 ” RCP in open cut and jacked-in-place.

Assistant Resident Engineer responsible for construction supervision on the $13.5 million renovation and bituminous overlay of 9,000 feet of Taxiway “P” including 40,000 square yards of 12” steel reinforced PCC overlay, storm sewers, taxiway lighting and shoulder reconstruction. Also included electrical inspection on the installation of a new 1135KW back-up generator for the North Airfield lighting system.
