During my previous role, I had the honour of being selected to participate in the Summer of Nix 2021, which provided me with a unique opportunity to deep dive into the Nix language, tools, and ecosystem. As part of this program, I actively contributed to the Nixpkgs repository by developing and submitting over 30 packages, while also successfully packaging two FOSS projects. Additionally, I undertook the challenging task of writing a Lisp parser within the Nix language, showcasing my ability to leverage its flexibility and extend its capabilities. I joined the Library & Archives team specifically to be involved with the development of a new digital resource called ‘Science in the Making’. This resource was designed especially to be Open Source and in working with both front-end and back-end development my duties were: Site testing: transcription module; tagging module; CMS, User testing: surveys etc., Moderation of content, Adding/curating digital content and coordinating with Marketing & Press for the launch.
