Managed the complete renovation of Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, California. Under direction of the Robert Trent Jones II design firm and the client’s budget, my primary responsibility was oversight of all aspects of construction sequencing to include: grading/shaping, drainage and irrigation install, grassing, feature layout and design implementation. In addition, the coordination of numerous subcontractors and accountability toward quality control standards was the focus. Initially, served as the owner’s representative and Superintendent during the design, planning, and construction of the golf course and infrastructure within a 6,300 acre real estate development. Facilitated all aspects of the construction process from commencement to primarily include contractor relations and quality control. Cornerstone is a high altitude 18-hole private golf club designed by Greg Norman which opened to members in 2007.Once complete, served as the Golf Course Superintendent responsible for the maintenance of the golf course, elaborate practice facilities, landscape areas, and other recreational amenities. Upon opening, Cornerstone was awarded numerous accolades including “Best New Private Course” by Golf Magazine and “Top 25 Golf Communities” by Travel and Leisure. Developed and implemented a standards and procedures maintenance plan for the golf course and landscapes. Operated under budget plan annually and strived to find efficiencies in daily operations as well as future planning and forecasting.

Responsible for the 18-hole championship golf course, 9-hole par 3 course and practice facilities. Consistently rated in the top five of “America’s Top 100” by Golf Digest, ranked #1 in 2001-02. Hosted approximately 70,000 rounds of golf and 40 plus tournaments annually. Managed and motivated a staff of 32 to guide the course maintenance operation and implement capital improvement projects. Notable capital projects included: green/tee renovations, irrigation system improvements, cart path construction/rerouting, bunker additions and renovations, substantial tree transplanting, and design/construction of a new turf maintenance facility. Most improvement plans were established to strengthen the golf course for anticipated professional tournament events.

Responsible for an 18-hole resort facility with 50,000 plus rounds per year. Managed a staff of 18 greenkeepers, 8-member landscape/dunes crew and 1 botanist. Coordinated all aspects of daily maintenance for the golf course and coastal landscape. Most notable capital improvement project was a complete renovation of the automatic irrigation system in 2000. Conducted budget planning, preparation and implementation. * Earned the GCSAA Environmental Steward Award in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
