Tier II server and client side support for the U.S. Army, NATO, development engineers, CECOM business partners, and other IT liaisons for the US Army, utilizing a tactical Red Hat Linux based satellite tracking software (FBCB2-BFT) from a 24/7 global network operations center. Responsible for technical support, maintenance, and recovery of operational hardware and software affecting critical user services for the global terrestrial and celestial based network. Operational hardware and software includes FBCB2-BFT end user systems, FBCB2-JCR server OS (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), GCCS servers, DDS servers, and Solaris Radiant Mercury servers. Ensuring transceiver security on the global network, authorizing and authenticating users, as well as managing a secure NOC are primary mission goals. Day-to-day interactions in testing, troubleshooting, and utilization of MySQL, DNS, NIS, NTP, NAS, VLAN, SNMP, Nitro, basic UNIX administration, and VM Ware vSphere. Provide technical leadership to the NOC support staff in troubleshooting problems and address network outages.
