Community Media Center Manager
-
Jun 2005 - Feb 2013
Manager for Honolulu’s public access television provider’s Kaimuki community media center, I provided access to media production resources, and facilities, and training, for Oahu residents to create non-commercial program content for cablecasting on the public access channels of Oceanic Cable Television. I managed a staff of two, conducting classes on how to plan a video production, usage of cameras, microphones, and other production equipment, editing of video using Final Cut Pro, as well as other topics as needed. I managed a pool of consumer and professional level cameras, microphones, and other production equipment for use by volunteers, and provide technical support in the usage of equipment and editing software. I also facilitated studio productions, as well as coordinated volunteers to assist with large scale field productions to showcasing community events, and performed outreach in the community to identify groups that might utilize Olelo’s services and educate them about the resources we offer and the importance of effective communication using media.
