It is hard to find words to describe my experience with Tom. Tom never truly felt like a boss, more like a leader and a mentor. I have learned more from him that I have ever learned at any other point in my career. He is the type of manager who takes on criticism and leads by example. He listens to his staff, realizing that every person has his own valuable opinion. Tom made sure his employees were satisified at their jobs all the time, creating the environment of a family which made everyone in the team work from their hearts. He invests in his employees, providing training and the right level of support and has an entrepreneurial mindset, seeing opportunties where others don't. He will truly go far and I am looking forward to seeing his new business expand , rise to the top and I will proudly say that I was once part of his team.

More than just a boss. That is how I would describe Tom. During my time at Clarion, it is fair to say that we connected strongly on both the professional and personal sides. It says a lot that even close to a year after I have left Clarion, I still feel a sense of strong loyalty to Tom. He is everything you want from a manager: Smart, Fair, Challenging, Flexible, Hungry and always Leading from the front. When we spent 40 hours straight working during Edex build up, Tom was with us- never using his position as an excuse to get some rest. He would never ask his staff to do something he wouldn’t himself and you thus feel a sense of responsibility to reach and exceed targets and expectations. I was always impressed by his ability to shine with, mainly, Arab Ministries of Defence. Though there is a clear linguistic and cultural block, both the Egypt and Bahrain MODs took to Tom, respected, trusted and relied on him heavily. His experience, knowhow and clear mindedness helped deliver expos these countries were proud of and his management style allowed us all to shine and grow as sales people. I was present during times where Tom was under immense external pressure , and yet he never made his team feel the frustrations and bear the brunt of the additional stress. In addition, he values advice and is always open to suggestions on how to increase sales, productivity, strengthen the sales propositions or launch new shows. Lastly, he made sure to highlight staff back to HQ in London, making sure that senior management were fully aware of our value. Suffice to say that I hope I get to work with Tom again in the future- and I have no doubt that he will continue to add to his impressive pedigree in the defense and events world.
