I led and managed a research project on the functional characterization of tight junction proteins and their link to actomyosin cytoskeleton. Main responsabilities: - Manage and organize scientific projects - Optimize, implement and perfom experiments, critically analyze and interpret the results - Document experiments in laboratory notebooks - Keeping abreast of the scientific literature - Supervision of a Master Student - Wrote and co-wrote scientific documents and articles - Communicate and promote the results (internal seminars) - Teaching activities: Teaching activity in life science (Fundamental Biology [22 hours] and Histology [22 hours]) at the University of Geneva (for undergraduate students; 2020-Now). Training: -Cell biology: culture of polarized epithelial cell lines, transwell assay, transient transfection, immunofluorescence -Molecular biology: cloning, PCR -Biochemistry: production and purification of recombinant proteins, Pull-Down, protein extraction, Western Blot -Imaging: ultrastructure expansion microscopy, super-resolution microscopy STED, confocal/Spinning Disk microscopy, live cell imaging, image processing, ImageJ/Fiji Macro Programming Show less

I led and managed a research project on the identification and functional characterization of a protein overexpressed in breast cancer, the protein MOSPD2. My main mission has been to decipher the physiological function of this protein; an essential notion to better understand the involvement of MOSPD2 in cancer. To sum up, I have shown that MOSPD2 is a critical protein that regulates the organelle dynamics within the cell. Main responsabilities: - Manage and organize scientific projects - Optimize, implement and perfom experiments, critically analyze and interpret the results - Document experiments in laboratory notebooks - Keeping abreast of the scientific literature - Supervision of undergraduate (1) and graduate (3) students - Wrote and obtained a grant proposal (Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale), wrote and co-wrote scientific documents and articles - Communicate and promote the results - I did oral presentations in national and international seminars such as Club Endocytose-Exocytose (Nice, France - 2019), 19th Regional Scientific Day of the Ligue Contre le Cancer (Illkirch, France - 2018), Club Endocytose-Exocytose (Barcelona, Spain - 2018). - Teaching activities: Courses at the Medical School of Strasbourg (for graduate students; 2 hours in 2016/2017/2018) / Teaching activity in life science (Biodiversity [44 hours] and Developmental Biology [22 hours]) at the University of Strasbourg (for undergraduate students; 2016-2017). Training: - Cell biology: culture of different cell lines, transient transfection, work in BSL2 laboratory, immunofluorescence - Molecular biology: cloning, PCR - Biochemistry: production and purification of recombinant proteins (Akta systems), purification of antibodies, Western Blot, Pull-Down - Imaging: confocal microscopy, super-resolution microscopy STED, live cell imaging, EM, ImageJ/Fiji Macro Programming - In vivo: subcutaneous injections of cancer cells in mice, bioluminescence imaging in living mice, histology Show less
