      • Being responsible for installing and de-installing all exhibitions and works. This includes a/v setup, basic joinery, lighting, working at height on platforms, using a variety of tools and equipment, and being involved in curation. • Maintaining the technical area and equipment. • Co-ordinating all technical tasks during and outside of opening hours. • Being involved from as early as possible in the process of realising an exhibition or event, from selection of successful exhibition applications, through to the last-minute adjustments and troubleshooting. • Communicating via email, phone, or social media to other volunteers the upcoming workload, and ensuring there are enough people to help and tools available, encouraging new volunteers to join in and carry out technical work. These emails frequently include encouragements to volunteers to tidy up and adhere to health and safety standards. • Discussing the installations and de-installations with artists and trying to ensure we can provide the tech support they need when they arrive. • Finding solutions to technical problems encountered, usually early on during setup. This involves being very honest and open with artists, and often involves group brainstorming. • Delegating tasks to others. • Being a member of the elected committee, which is a group of more experienced volunteers and team co-ordinators who are entrusted with making important decisions regarding the future of the organisation. • Handling and returning securely packaged artworks. • Interviewing and inducting applicants, arguably the most important job. • Acting as fire marshall.
