Taking a start-up initiative from problem definition through to ideation and finally production of a minimal viable product. I followed the lean start-up methodology, ensuring that the start-up solution matched the customer pain and therefore guaranteed maximum customer value creation. The project enhanced my self-starter attitude and helped me develop a resilience to set backs. 1.) Studying the mitochondrial genetic stability of adult human stem cells. Utilising bioinformatic tools, the rate of variant acquisition of the stem cells can be compared to other tissue types. This was fundamental scientific research to better understand the consequences of the higher replicative demand placed upon stem cells in the body.2.) Studying the mitochondrial genomic stability of organoids. The organoid culturing process is a highly promising laboratory stem cell culturing technique that has multiple translational potentials. For the clinical possibilities of the organoid to be realised genomic integrity must be maintained throughout the process.

This challenge consisted of two six week halves. The first half focused on a consulting project for an online data protection startup (Tippiq), the five person team I worked in won this challenge. The second halve allowed for the development of our own startup, culminating a pitch to potential investors. This challenge consisted of two six week halves.
