Wageningen, Gelderland, Nederland It was my job to help students with their exercises and in their understanding of the course material. The main topics of the course were Pinch and Exergy analysis. Additionally, I assisted the students with software handeling of the programs E!Sankey and Mathcad. The last week of this course focussed on a large case study with data delivered from a large food production company. The last week of this course focussed on a large case study with data delivered from a large food production company. This collaboration project between the WUR and FrieslandCampina Lochem was set up by me. It was my task to design and create two cases focussing on the powder factory and direct in the case design of two additional cases on the butter factory in Lochem. Being a student assistent in this course for the second time has been enriching and increased my knowledge on the course topics. I am grateful to be given the chance of increased responsibility in comaprison to the course in 2019. Creating these cases from scratch, directing others and setting up a factory tour for over 120 people has been a rewarding learning experience. Show less

Firstly by identifying and quantifying the losses in current processes which resulted in an investment plan which will contribute to the sustainability goals of the company. It was an excellent opportunity to further developed my professional skills and get familiarised with working within a large network. I had the opportunity to lead a collaboration project between the Wageningen University & Research and FrieslandCampina. This project was about creating a real life case study, based on factory data, which students would work fulltime for a week. Students participating in the masters course "Sustainable Food and Bioprocessing" would look at the current processes from a sustainability point of view. It was my job to design and create the cases concerning the powder factory and direct in the creation of cases focussing on the butter factory. Show less

Wageningen Titled: 'Foam production mechanics in partitioned EDGE microfluidic devices.' In my research I looked into the potential of implementing EDGE (edge based droplet generation) for the production of foams by looking into the physical mechanics during bubble formation. I did this research using a high speed camera and a light microscope, analysing the gathered images in ImageJ

Wageningen The course was focussed on analysing food production chain from a energy point of view. In order to do so few methods were used, mainly Pinch and Exergy analysis. During the tutorial sessions I, and a second student assistant, were tasked to help students with their exercises in the course. Next to that we worked with the company Cargill to create 3 separate case studies on which the students would work for a week. Wageningen Student Assistant during the practicals of the course 'Food Production and Preservation'. My task in this was to assist the second year Bachelor Food Technology students in their calculations on the data they obtained in the lab. This has challenged me to increase my mastering of fluid mechanics, enzyme kinetics, pasteurization, heat exchangers and overall food engineering. Additional to this I have obtained additional experience in one-on-one teaching and working in Excel.
