Managed a territory of oil and gas accounts, with incidental manufacturing. Lines of business include workers compensation, GL, auto liability and physical damage. Programs were large deductible/SIR and guaranteed cost. Account premium size was $450k to $46MM. New business growth of 10% included a $5M well services contractor as well as the onshore piece of an underwater pipeline services contractor, and growth originated from national and large regional brokers. Renewals achieved 17% overall rate increase with 92% retention. Professional development included attending a weeklong energy seminar at the Petroleum Institute of Texas (U of Texas). Development included indentifying a seminar put on by claims counel which was held for all national market underwriters countrywide as a way to address a training need for USL&H exposures. Also identified other Liberty business units which would accept the specialty business for which we did not have an appetite, and this allowed us to write/retain the accounts we would have otherwise not written or lost.
