I enjoyed my time at Lidl and improved my skills in terms of a customer facing role. The shifts at Lidl were always different with a new challenge or situation presenting itself every day. The staff around me were great and supportive in terms of outside work problems. It was definately a hectic time in some cases with moments of dullness to everything happening at once which kept me focsued throughout the shift. I left Lidl as i want to create a journalistic presence online and also finish my degree. Show less

Working in the media tent during the 150th Open in St. Andrews. The job meant that I was helping journalists, photographers, and radio broadcasters with any queries throughout the week and sorting them with their credentials. Other jobs included delivering newspapers and passes around the course to whoever needed them, being involved with press conferences by holding the microphone for jounrnalists, and doing a coffee run here and there for the media team. It was a great week with a great team and it definately sparked an interest with the world of the media. Show less

Bar Staff

Mar 2022 - May 2022
First proper bar job at a buy sports bar in Glasgow city centre. Busy during the week with champions and europa league nights and busier weekends with boxing, rugby, horse racing, and much more football. I enjoyed working here despite the late nights, the shifts went by quickly as the number of customers kept growing as the night went on. It was much different than restaurant work as the primary good you are selling is alcohol so i would have some fun chats with customers, and the other staff were great, each one making the shift better. However, after 3 months of working there, i decided it wasn't for me as the late nights (which included getting home at 3/4 Sunday mornings) weren't for me and it was impacting my studies. Show less

A summer job at a popular and busy ocean side restaurant. Jobs included waiting tables, taking care of visitors, making drinks (both alcholoic, soft, and coffees and teas), and washing and drying dishes whenever there was a free moment. Although I wasn't at the job for long as i had to reutrn back to Glasgow for University, i enjoyed my time there and learnt skills for busy enviorments such as this one.
