At US Steel I was able to gain a wealth of information and knowledge. I started as a crane operator. Eventually, a position became available in the machine shop and I was able to be placed in that position because of my plentiful experience. I scored extremely well in the journeyman aptitude assessment, thus, I was able the bypass the usual lengthy training regimen. We remanufactured all of the parts for the many different parts of the mill. for example, cranes, blast furnaces, continuous casters. In the machine shop, I programmed and operated a multiaccess CNC lathe and mill. I was also able to attain the highest welding certification at 6G position.

I had many important jobs duties at Nicholson Terminal and Dock. As the machine shop leader, I remanufactured parts for ocean-going and freshwater vessels. As the repair gang leader, I led my team in the handling of all of the welding, repair, and fabrication of ocean-going and freshwater vessels. As a crane operated and maintained multiple cranes, including a 4100 Manitowoc with 130' boom, and a 90 ton Clyde gantry crane. I had many important jobs duties at Nicholson Terminal and Dock. I started at Versa as a welder and fitter. I worked my way up in the company quickly. My experience with AutoCAD was the key to designing specific prototypes that the company was in need of.I designed lifters for automotive parts as a prototype. The demand for my prototype grew exponentially and we received many orders from the Big 3 for my designs. I started at Versa as a welder and fitter. I worked my way up in the company quickly.
