Playing a key role in a growing department from the start, I have worked with my Head of Department to prepare and form the new KS3 curriculum with a keen focus on computer science skills and knowledge. Within my first year, I was responsible for two vocational final year classes managing coursework to ensure that all was completed on time and to a high standard, in addition to preparing two classes for external examinations. As part of my role, I have significantly strengthened my organisation and planning skills. Due to the multi-faceted role, I consider my task prioritisation extremely strong - taking an essentialist approach, prioritising via highest impact and/or the most pressing deadlines. Another key strength developed from teaching is communication and relationship building, with students, staff and team members but also the ability to take complex technical concepts and communicate these in a clear way for non-technical students and staff members. During this placement, I completed a range of work. Analytics: Working in Risk Analytics in the area of Fast Moving Consumer Goods, including data driven marketing and visualisation. Within this I used the Dataiku platform to manipulate and process data from several sources. I also worked on assurance analytics projects, processing data from financial systems such as SAP and writing SQL analytics to produce Excel documents. IT Audit / Controls : Providing assurance of financial IT systems and controls in use by clients through interacting with clients, analysis of evidence and review of controls and procedures. Cloud2020 is a Microsoft Partner that specialses in cloud software and Microsoft products. During this placement I was part of a small team which was implementing cloud based CRM solutions and customisations for external clients using Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM software. I was responsible for adding customisations specific to the client’s company to enable them to migrate their business data with ease into Dynamics. Additionally, I was tasked with making design modifications for the company’s support portal using CSS (Bootstrap) as well as testing features of the portal. National Citizen Service is a government run charity that runs a scheme that aims to develop young people between the ages of 16-17 and give them the skills they will need to transition into adult life as well as raise their confidence and community awareness.
