P.N. Fernando & Company (Pvt) Ltd. was my choice to undergo my Industrial Training. The company was known as one of the oldest and most experienced establishments in seafood processing. During the period of industrial training, I was assigned to the Quality Assurance Department. I have been assigned to accomplish various tasks which included Observation and Documentation. As a Quality assurance trainee, I worked on measuring Critical Control Points (CCPs) of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP), and how to follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Also, I learned teamwork, knowledge sharing, and dedicated work for the development of the company. Throughout my industrial training, I was able to apply the skills and knowledge acquired from lectures to complete my work in practice. Especially the computer skills and lectures about quality assurance was exceptionally useful. I was able to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge of fish processing and quality assurance as a trainee. And I was able to recognize my strengths as a good team player, an excellent observer, and a person with great organizational skills, and weaknesses as being too sensitive and not being punctual. Lastly, within industrial training, I had gained uncountable knowledge and experience and understand more about the roles of quality assurance in the seafood processing industry. Show less
