As part of the Energy Audit team, I carried out ASHRAE Level II Energy Audits of State-Owned facilities (Courthouses, State Offices, etc.) under the Maryland State Department (Maryland Department of General Services).My responsibilities included:- Conducted ASHRAE Level II Energy Audits of ~2.7 million sq.ft of State-owned facilities for the Maryland DGS.- Performed utility analysis & energy benchmarking using EnergyStar Portfolio Manager.- Developed energy simulations on eQuest & implement operational conditions to reflect current energy parameters.- Conducted lighting assessment of State Offices, resulting in an annual reduction of lighting energy consumption by ~75%.- Proposed Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) starting with low-cost measures to the Maryland State Department on the ongoing energy projects with the goal of reducing energy consumption of State buildings by 10%.

I have worked as an Energy Research Assistant for the UMD S2TS Team focussed towards performing ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit of Buildings & Data Centers in the University Campus.Responsibilities :- Conducted walkthrough audits of data centers to collect information on the physical infrastructure, get operator’s feedback on the performance of the Data Center, growth opportunities & consolidation potential.- Developed models of the Data Centers in 6Sigma & made the required changes to get the real world operational parameters & operating scenario of the Data Centers.- Conducted study & analysis of the air flow parameters using CFD analysis.- Performed calculations for the power consumption data & Power Utilization Efficiency (PUE) of the Data Center.- Suggested Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) to reduce the power consumption of the Data Centers.- Verified the projected energy savings with the 6Sigma model calculations & on-site measurements by implementing the ECMs.- Assisted with the implementation of the suggested ECMs with the Data Center Management Team.
