      The Coordinator for the New Student Orientation program for new students is a WNMU student who works with First Year Experience, Student Affairs staff, Advising Coordinators, university faculty, and Orientation Leaders to assure that summer programs for new students are conducted in a meaningful and professional manner. The Student Coordinator will be a WNMU student who has attained junior standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, has a clear formal discipline record, and has demonstrated leadership skills as a student at WNMU. The New Student Orientation Coordinator will report to the Orientation Coordinator will participate in a 5-day training session preceding the first summer orientation. They will be involved in training activities for Orientation Leaders, managing orientation leader, and also coordinating logistical duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities of this position include: Openly and honestly communicate with the Orientation Coordinator. Develop a group/team environment that welcomes new students and family members and focuses on their well being.Serve as a resource person for and assist in overseeing the training of Orientation Leaders.Be a positive role model and mentor for OLs and staff as well as for students and families. Be willing to commit to summer employment, which permits working at all New Student Orientations.With direction from Coordinator, develop individual assignments for Orientation Leaders.Perform other administrative duties as assigned by supervisors.
