  Theo received an Anglo American scholarship and spent 5 years in research & development (R&D) in the South African mining industry, where after he qualified at and practiced as patent attorney and partner of the law firm DM Kisch Inc. until 2004. In 2004, with some of his then partners, Theo left to form the specialist IP-related, commercial law firm Bouwers Inc., a botique firm specialising in the management and commercialisation of large intellectual property portfolios. Theo has 20 years experience in technology & patent related matters and is recognized as an expert in this field. Theo is involved daily with IP related prosecution, litigation and commercial matters internationally, including patent applications and litigation; corporate, portfolio, accounting and taxation planning & structuring; IP strategies, policies and best practices; IP risk management, valuations and technology transfer; IP related competition law, product liability and exchange control matters; and technology based, engineering & construction agreements. In his private time, Theo enjoys canoeing, scuba diving, mountain biking, tennis and hiking with his partner and two daughters. Show less
