UN Youth Queensland facilitates education, activities, competitions, and programs surrounding international relations, the UN, and international politics. This organization is run by the youth for the youth. I was voted into the role of Deputy Development Director, this position is on the executive team of UN Youth Queensland. I help to oversee grants, the future development, and improvements to the organization. Through this role I work with sponsors, fellow executives, and delegates (event attendees) to create the most accessible and best possible experience possible. Show less

When volunteering, I assisted in the maintenance of theaters, installation, and repair of lighting and A/V equipment, and I observed and shadowed technicians. While doing this, I was working on a team of skilled technicians, through which I learnt much of what I know in the technical theater. I was also assisting with bump in and bump out around the shows, testing and tagging lights, and inventorying stock. • Feb 2022 - Dec 2022

I was the Youth Member for Cooper and a member of the Education, Employment, industrial relations, and Training (EEIRT) portfolio during 2022. During this year I worked alongside other youth members to produce the "Improving workplace culture and inclusion youth bill 2022" where we looked at inequalities across genders, cultures, and industries. This bill was successfully passed in the youth parliament and tabled at Queensland State Parliament. My Portfolio also tabled three policies which were focussed on sex education in schools, improving access to trade apprenticeships, and finally creating safe spaces within schools. Alongside this I began working on a campaign to improve the information and support for victims of image based sexual abuse. This led me to work alongside members of taskforce Argos, a Queensland Police Service taskforce, the Queensland Family and Child Commission, and the E-safety Commissioner. This has the aim to lessen the victim blaming that society has often partaken in, while also providing a clear legal framework so that minors in particular know exactly who to go to to get help. • Nov 2021 - Feb 2022

I was a Subway sandwich for my 2021-22 school holidays. In this role I was tasked with interacting with customers, helping them make decisions, chatting with them, and ensuring their experience was enjoyable and swift while making food. The constant face to face interaction ensured that I learnt how to deal with all customers and strike up conversation where appreciated. I was a Subway sandwich for my 2021-22 school holidays.
