Worked isolate novel thermophilic enzymes type I polyketide synthase (PKS) from a quality large-insert soil metagenomics library. In essence, there are two parts of any major Metagenomics project. Screening and sequence analysis. These "large- insert soil samples" are incredibly vast and require a lot of screening to process them. My major contribution has been high through-put screening of this samples. Responsibilities there under include replica plating, making substrate, staining, visual screening, autoclaving, pouring plates, etc. Those with positive results are submitted for screening. I also handle ELISA, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, sequence analyzer, and Bioinformatics software as secondary tasks in the laboratory. Show less
